Indoor skill development of women

The Women in Business & Leadership Conference (WBLC) is an initiative project by PGOJ that recognizes and highlights the notable achievements and life stories of global female icons, women leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals who have helped catalyze a positive change to the society. WBLC serves as a platform for women where professionals are provided an opportunity to share their knowledge and skills to succeed in today’s diverse business scenario. It provides an opportunity to the participants particularly the women to learn and get inspiration in order to achieve success in all realms of life.

Employment patterns of men and women have changed drastically over the last 25 years. Significantly, the proportion of women who were employed has also increased over the period. Changing social attitudes and smaller families have contributed to these changes in women’s employment. Recent Fortune magazine listed 50 of the most powerful women; the women on the list have broken down barriers and carved out places for themselves in all spheres of business, government and social leadership positions. The great vision andan interminable commitment are needed to continue the mission.

Challenges to mitigate financial crunch

The country is facing multiple challenges, PGOJ believes that it is high time for the welfare organizations, philanthropists, intellectuals and economic development planners to join hands and help the state indirectly to mitigate the social and financial crises, being faced by the downtrodden segments of the society in particular. Providing free education and skill development in rural and semi-rural areas may help to reduce the aforementioned problems of our society. The efforts are being made for women and other marginalized groups to get opportunities by participating in the economic activities in the rural/semi urban areas.

Despite considerable potential, Pakistan faces numerous social, economic and political challenges, including illiteracy rate, poor access to education and health care, a low level of political participation, unemployment and widespread poverty. Women and girls are particularly disadvantaged in economic, social and political activities.

The destructive exploitation of natural resources, lack of infrastructure, low tax revenues and widening energy supply gaps are major obstacles to development. The situation is exacerbating by a lack of transport and storage capacity, resulting in substantial losses, particularly in agriculture.

Good governance, rule of law and reliable delivery of public services that also benefit poor, low-income groups continue to be major challenges for Pakistan. Governance performance by the central and provincial authorities is not yet sufficient for sustainable development. Ongoing problems with public safety and security – as a result of religious or other forms of extremism, and natural disasters further impede Pakistan’s development.

PGOJ has successfully achieved the set targets of promoting healthy values of interfaith harmony, women development, education and right of free expression. As the organization successfully achieved the targets, it expanded the scope of the organization. The organization is planning to included more marginalized areas of AJK and bring about qualitative change in the lives of the marginalized people of d AJK.
