GOJ is basically a social welfare organization, struggling for social development and welfare of the society. Shortly after establishment of the organization, we started working immediately after the devastating earthquake of 8 October 2005 in the earthquake-hit areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). The PGOJ volunteers and representatives worked devotedly in quake hit areas particularly in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Hattain Bala and in Neelum valley round the clock with the assistance of philanthropists and welfare organizations from Pakistan and abroad. The dedicated and devoted workers of our organization carried out rescue and relief operations along with Pak Army, workers of national and international welfare organizations. Moreover, PGOJ provided first aid and established medical camps with the assistance of Red Crescent, Association of Pakistani Physician in the USA, Helping Hand of UK and other national and international medical organizations.
In addition, the PGOJ undertake the task of Qurbani(sacrifice of animals) on the eve of Eid-e-Qurban. The animals are sacrificed in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Hattian and in Neelum valley areas since 2006, and the volunteers of the PGOJ distribute the meat of qurbani among the needy people in the far flung areas of the region.
The PGOJ has been engaged in different activities including the human rights, freedom of society, promoting healthy values and norms of the society and discourage sick customs of the society.
PGOJ provides full support to social victims and organizes different programs in this regard. The international human rights day is being observed every year and the PGOJ organize walks and seminars to highlight the human rights violations besides, hold special counseling sessions and lectures while getting the services of psychiatrists and social reforms for behavior change.
